One of my favourite things about hiking in Scotland is the colours that appear in the seasons. The wetter seasons create lushious purples, deep midnight greens, energetic oranges, and screaming mossy yellowy-greens.
Here are a few photos I took on my last hike up Ben Ledi, that made my brain feel balanced whilst also making my inner artist's heart skip with excitement.
Here are two pieces I created inspired by my hike.
Step Stone, inspired by a large stone step on the hike, image above, created in watercolour and oil pastle.
Ben Ledi, inspired by the side of Ben Ledi, image above, created in oil paint.
I watched a movie that will stick with me for the rest of my life this week, called Train Dreams. The set decorator (Melisa Jusufi) has posted some insane behind the scenes details of the processes used and I found it very inspiring. Even before seeing bts shot, you can tell that an incredible amount of thought and care was used to develop the spaces for this movie. And the forest, a key witness in the movie, was kept integral to every indoor set. Feeling very inspired witnessing this movie and very fortunate it exists in my lifetime. And I could see so many themes travelling from my hike earlier that day to the movie I watched in the evening, like I never climbed down the hill.
